Concepcion Romero
"From 1981-83,
I was a Peace Corps volunteer stationed in a very small rural
area, calle 12,000, which is in central Paraguay, South America.
I was readily accepted into their community...Concepcion (Romero)
and I became best of friends, mostly due to our love for guitar
and music. I will always cherish the many nights, weekends and
rainy days sitting around the fire at my 'casita' drinking cerveza,
playing guitars, and just having the best time of my life...As
I look back at that time in my life, I can honestly say that not
only was Concepcion my teacher, mentor and best friend, he is
one of the greatest people I know..."
